Being that the Archive Alexa (aka Alexa Chung x Marks and Spencer collection that launched last week) skews vintage, this trench coat was bound to be on my list. So see these are my thoughts on it. This is what I wore for the Bill Cunningham memorial on Monday afternoon. The end of the invitation read simply: Dress For Bill, so bright colors it was. For those that don’t know, Bill was really one of the first ever street style photographers who’s prolific work was only ever overshadowed by his incredible sincere and endearing personality. The memorial was a who’s who of guests from Editor in Chiefs of magazines to designers to his colleagues from The New York Times.
The obviously pretty sometimes doesn’t work (in my head), hence the attraction to these grey grunge nineties style platform boots. Boots like this work with a lot more than you think e.g. skinny jeans, midi skirts and dresses. This time I contrasted them with wide leg culottes. Topshop has these wide leg trousers that would be an interesting alternative to my white ones which already have a mark on the back because I can’t keep white clean for five minutes. ps. Speaking of colour,
